Airlines

There are several airlines that serve Malaga and Granada Airports. Granada is far less busy and therefore quicker to transit.

Airlines serving Malaga:

• British Airways From Heathrow & Gatwick
• Monarch From Gatwick, Luton & Stansted
• Easyjet From Gatwick, Luton & Stansted

Airlines serving Granada

• Monarch From Gatwick
• Ryan Air From Stansted

All of the above do Internet booking so it is worth spending a couple of hours surfing to get the best deal.

Car Hire (Discount available)

The house is about 1 hr. drive from Malaga Airport or 1.5 hrs. from Granada Airport.

All the major Car Hire companies are available at both airports but we have always found that www.hellehollis.com is far superior both for reliability and service. If you do use the above please contact us before booking as we would be able to get you a small discount.

Local Shopping

As regard to local shopping the village of Comares is approx. 10kms from the House. Comares has small Spanish shops which sell everything but, you will need time and patience to use them. Other than these there is a vast Shopping complex on the outside of Velez Malaga which is a 45 min drive. Here you will find everything you need with all the facilities that any European shopping centre can offer. Shopping takes sometime, due to the distance involved and you cannot just nip to a 24/7 shop so, it may be an idea to devote a day to this chore early on in your stay.

Local Visits

Comares is a typical Andalucian village dating back to the 9th century. There are several bars and eating places and being the highest village in the Axarquia the views are spectacular. Close by is Venta Galway, a 400 year old restaurant unrivalled for its local game. The Inn has the most amazing views over the whole of Axarquia!

The Costa De Sol is a 45 minute drive away, heaving with tourists it is over developed with many golf courses, hotels etc. and some chic resorts such as Marbella and Puerta Banus, but with some good shopping and excellent restaurants.

Granada, Ronda and Seville are also within reach.
